In establishing one’s Namaskara in the Buddha, sraddha (confidence based on Right Understanding as opposed to blind faith) in the Buddha Dhamma is simultaneously reinforced. This strengthens one’s commitment to skillfully practice the Buddha’s Sublime Teaching in daily life.
The confidence established thereby equips a person with a positive mindset to embrace wholesome aspirations in life as taught by the Buddha. The individual is encouraged to actualize these aspirations through adhiṭṭhāna or resolute determination, viriya or skillful effort, and other pre-requisites outlined by the Buddha in the Eightfold Noble Path.
That is why, in the Buddha Dhamma, the maxim of right self-effort is stressed as opposed to depending on an Almighty Powerful External Being or Power.
